The plantation was an active part of the nation's thriving tobacco industry in the 18th and 19th centuries. Located adjacent to the Dover Air Fore Base, the plantation is just South of the Eagle Creek Golf Club. Built in 1740, the plantation was commissioned by Samuel Dickinson, a wealthy politician and farmer.
